Hey everyone! Sorry I haven't posted in a while. We got settled into our apartment in Temple. It really stinks going from a beautiful house to a semi-okay apartment, but we are making the best of it. It's only for 5 more months. That's what we keep telling ourselves. We'll be in the Cedar Park area staying with my parents for the entire 2 week Christmas break! It will be nice to visit with family and friends while we're in town.

I started back to work last week. I'm glad to be back with my kids, but sad that I'm no longer spending every minute of my day with Eli. He is staying with Mrs. Kathy in Rogers. She is very sweet to him and we wish he could stay with her, but she already promised another mom that her baby could come in January :-( She can't have another infant, so Eli will be going to a daycare right by the school. Hopefully she will be open when Christmas break is over. I am able to go visit him during the day. I have 2 conference periods and lunch in a row, so I go visit him for a little bit and then do whatever needs to be done at school.

Eli is growing so fast! He is already in his 6-9 month clothes!! He is such a sweet baby. He loves to laugh and watch people. I will post some new pictures soon.

We hope that everyone has a safe and happy holiday. Merry Christmas!!!

Love,
Sarah, Kent and Eli

2 Months Old!!

Eli will be two months old on Tuesday! I can't believe how fast the time is going by. He is holding his head really well now and smiles and coos a lot. He is also following people across the room with his eyes really well. We went to the doctor Friday for his two month check up and shots (ouch!) He now weighs 12 lbs, 13 oz and is 22.6 inches long. He has been very fussy in the evenings and when I described what has been going on to the doctor she said that it sounds like baby colic. For Eli, eating seems to help make it better, but sometimes nothing helps and he just cries until he wears himself out and falls asleep. I haven't been able to just put him down and let him cry it out. I keep on trying different things to see if it will help. I am looking forward to the passing of the colic. I was very worried that the shots were going to make him even more fussy Friday evening during the football game, as the week before this he cried the ENTIRE GAME. But, he slept from about 5 pm until we saw daddy after the game around 10. The only downside to that is that he was ready to be awake a lot earlier than Momma on Saturday.

In other news, the football team is doing really, really well. They went 9-1 and won their district championship. The first playoff game is this Friday, 11/14 in Hutto at 7:30. They play Halletsville. I'm not sure if I spelled that right....Anyway, everyone should come out and cheer on the Rogers Eagles if you can. For our friends in the Austin area, this is really close!

We are moving! We found a two bedroom apartment to rent in the south side of Temple. It is approximately 14 miles from Rogers, so it will be a much better commute. Kent is definitely tired of the hour drive. We are signing a 7 month lease so we can make it through the end of the school year and then decide what to do next....keep renting the apartment, rent a house, buy a house. We are placing many of our belongings in a storage unit for the time being. We are sad to have to go from our first house back to apartment living, especially right in time for the holidays, but hopefully it will be temporary until we figure something else out.

1 Month Old!!

Eli is one month old today! We went to our second football game last night in Jarrell. They had a pretty nice stadium and facilities there. We beat them 56-0!!! The boys played great! Eli was really looking around at everything for most of the first half and then he fell asleep with Momma holding him. He ate at halftime and then went into his peanut shell sling for a nice long nap!

Eli and I have been hanging out every day. We are really starting to get into a routine and I am getting pretty good at figuring out what he wants when he starts fussing. We have been getting out of the house a lot more and doing things, so that has been fun. We did our first sit down restaurant at Olive Garden with Granny on Thursday night.

Today we have a birthday party to go to across the street for Allie's 2nd birthday, the Texas football game to watch and we are going to swing by the jaguar car show to see Granny and Pa this afternoon. Plus, Daddy will be home for about 20 hours or so starting this afternoon. That's the longest we'll get to see him this week! But as long as the football team keeps winning, we don't mind!

I will be going back to work December 1st, so I'll only have 3 weeks until Christmas break, which will be nice.

2 Weeks

Eli turned 2 weeks old yesterday! He is such a sweet baby. He sleeps really good when he sleeps and he is very alert when he is awake! He had his 2 week check-up yesterday and he is now 9 lbs, 10 ounces. He is such a good eater, I had no doubt that he had gained weight. I am finally starting to feel back to normal. We are ready to get out a little more and excited for our first football game next Friday. Enjoy the new pictures!
