Almost a half a year!

Our baby boy will be SIX months old this Wednesday!! I can hardly believe how big he has gotten. He is wearing 12 month clothes now and is sitting up completely by himself. He has two teeth, but we think he may be working on one or two more. He still hasn't figured out the crawling. He gets up on all fours and rocks back and forth a few times before moving....backwards! It is pretty funny to watch him. He's so proud of himself and loves when we say "Yay, Eli!!!" We've been taking our pup-pup, Jackie for a walk every afternoon now that the weather is warmer. Sometimes Eli takes a little nap when we walk and sometimes he watches that dog! His entire face lights up when Jackie walks into the room. He laughs at any little thing she does, like for example, sneeze! He has eaten and LOVED rice cereal, oatmeal, carrots and sweet potatoes. He HATES green beans! He's tried them over and over and will gag and spit them out. We are going to try peas next, so hopefully he'll like at least one GREEN vegetable. Eli's six month dr. appointment is during spring break, and I always love to see how much he has grown. I'll post an update then.

We've been pretty good. I am counting down the time left in this apartment! I HATE living in an apartment. We need to start looking for a house to rent soon and I can't wait until we find something!! Spring break starts in a week so that will be nice to spend some time together and just relax. Track season started and Kent is having a lot of fun with that. We are going to the meet next week in Academy, so that will be Eli's first track meet. He's been to plenty of football games, a couple basketball games and I think we are going to try to make it to a baseball game this weekend. He likes all the action! I am starting to get nervous as TAKS is coming up and we've been over and over all this stuff in class, so lets hope these kids pass, and maybe even get a few commended. Oh, and I'm studying for another certification test so lets hope I pass! If I do, I'll be able to teach any subject, grades 4-8. I'd love to get back to middle school soon or even try upper elementary.

Well, that's enough about us! Email me a line or comment on the blog to let me know how YOU are doing!!

Teeth!

I forgot to add when I posted earlier, that Eli got his first tooth this past week, and is working on a second!

Eating Video

Big boy!!

Eli had his 4 month doctor's appointment (a little late.) We were supposed to go when he was right at 4 months and a week, but his doctor had her baby early, so they had to reschedule us with the other pediatrician.

Anyway, we went on Friday and Eli weighs 17 1/2 pounds and is now 25 1/2 inches long! The doctor says he looks really good. We got the okay to start solid foods, so Eli tried his first cereal yesterday. He wasn't too sure at first, but he likes it today! I am posting some video of him eating.

We started this week with rice cereal and we also got some oatmeal, green beans, peas, sweet potatoes, squash and carrots! We are only trying out one food per week in case of food allergies. Once we've made it through all the cereals and veggies, we'll check out some fruits. We don't want him to like the sweet stuff too much and not eat his veggies!

Eli is going to have a new cousin that will be around a year younger than him! Shauna and Jett are expecting their second on 9/9/09!! We are very excited.

We hope that everyone is doing well! Enjoy the videos and pics!

4 Months Old!!

Our baby is 4 months old already! The time goes by so quickly. We had a great first Christmas. Eli got way too much stuff and is already spoiled. We spent most of our two weeks off at Granny and Pa's house in Cedar Park. We did ring in 2009 at Uncle Danny and Aunt Alisa's house on the river. We had so much fun sitting around the firepit and making s'mores. Of course, Momma was the one doing the eating!

Eli is so big now....about 16 pounds last time we weighed him. He is rolling back and forth. He is very interested in toys now! He is doing better sitting, but not all by himself yet. Now enjoy the pictures!
