Back to reality...

Summer officially ended a little early this year. Eli went back to "school" on the 10th when Momma had to be back for "new teacher" orientation. Kind of silly since I was returning to the district, but I had to do it. This time around is much more organized at HMS. I remember being so stressed out this time two years ago. I'm so excited to be in my same classroom and right next door to the same teacher, Mr. Cacciatore! They just switched teams on me today so my schedule went from 2nd and 5th period conferences to 4th and 5th. So it's kind of like last year, in that I teach 3 classes, have 2 for team planning and department planning and then lunch/advisory, then teach 2 classes. I should be nice and energized for those afternoon classes, right??

I still have a lot of work to do in my classroom, but I'm not stressing out about it, because I want to spend time with Eli in the afternoons. Today we went swimming for a little while and then ate dinner together. He is loving his new school. He has toddlers all around the same age in the room with him and it is the cutest thing to walk in and see 10 of them all sitting in their seats around the tables enjoying snack time. He has had a little adjusting with naps and all but he is doing well. He caught a little runny nose/cough thing immediately, so we were dealing with wake-ups in the middle of the night, but a humidifier seems to be helping with that. Last weekend, I ended up with what appears to be a bout of food poisoning from my favorite restaurant :( I don't know that for sure, but I have deduced it down to that particular meal....so needless to say my first weekend after working all week wasn't too fun!

Because of Kent's early, early two-a-days last week, and then me not feeling great, I haven't run for almost 2 weeks now! I need to get back in the swing of things if I want to up my mileage and get ready for the half-marathon in 5 months!

Speaking of Kent, he has been busy, busy, busy already preparing for football season. They are in the full swing of things, and school starts Tuesday, so it is sure to get even busier now. We are looking forward to a scrimmage this Saturday and the "Meet the Dragons" bbq. The first "real" game is Sept. 4!!!

Well, I will be sure to post more pictures soon and get some scores up here as we have some awesome games this season.

Love,

Sarah, Kent and Eli
